Paris Jackson's legal battle over late father's estate hits snag

Entertainment

Paris Jackson, 27 and daughter of Michael Jackson, just faced a setback in her legal fight with the executors of her late father's estate.
She's been challenging $625,000 in bonus payments made to law firms back in 2018—calling them "lavish gratuities" and raising concerns about the approval of these payments by the executors.

Estate's defense and Paris's next steps

On November 10, a Los Angeles judge threw out most of Paris's complaint under California's anti-SLAPP law (which is meant to stop lawsuits that threaten free speech).
Only minor issues remain for now, but Paris's team plans to try again soon.
Meanwhile, the estate pointed out she's received about $65 million since 2009 and credited its managers for turning things around financially after Michael Jackson's death.
