    In a surprising move, popular TV actor Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in the hit television show Anupamaa, has decided to venture into politics.

    She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and made her political debut announcement at the party's headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday.

    She expressed her enthusiasm for this new journey and stated her eagerness to contribute to the "mahayagya of development."

    Ganguly urged citizens to participate in elections

    During a press conference at the BJP's Delhi headquarters, Ganguly addressed the media.

    She stated, "As citizens, we all need to actively participate in these elections."

    "By the blessings of Mahkaaal and Matarani, I am able to meet and connect with people through my art. So, when I see this mahayagya of development, I feel that I should also take part in this."

    'I need your blessings': Ganguly sought support for her journey

    Upon joining BJP, Ganguly sought the support and blessings of her fans.

    She voiced her aspiration to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's path and serve under Amit Shah's leadership.

    "I came here so that I can follow the footsteps of Modi Ji and serve my country," she stated.

    "I need your blessings and support so that whatever I do, I do it right...If I make any mistakes then do let me know, you all are there to guide me."

    Ganguly's decision to join the BJP follows closely behind Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's move to join the same party in March.

    Ranaut is slated to run for office from Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

    Notable celebrities from the entertainment industry who are contesting under the BJP banner include veteran actor Hema Malini, Bhojpuri artist and incumbent MP Manoj Tiwari, and actor Ravi Kishan.
