Saregama invests ₹325cr in Bhansali Productions for music content

Entertainment

Saregama just put ₹325 crore into Bhansali Productions to lock in about 30% of its upcoming Hindi film music.
According to Vice Chairperson Avarna Jain, this move is all about making sure Saregama has a steady stream of music content—not about jumping into movie-making.

What's the deal?

The investment uses preference shares that will turn into equity by 2028, possibly giving Saregama up to a 49.9% stake (and maybe even 51% by 2030, depending on the financial performance of Bhansali Productions over the next three years).
Even though Saregama's shares dropped over 26% over the past year, this partnership is expected to give them reliable music at predictable costs—all funded from their own reserves.
