Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra seek quashing of ₹60cr cheating case
Actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have asked the Bombay High Court to scrap a ₹60 crore cheating case against them.
Businessman Deepak Kothari claims they convinced him to invest in their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, but then used his money for themselves instead of the business.
The police have lodged an FIR against the couple for alleged cheating.
The couple's stand in the case
Shetty and Kundra say these are just business losses from the chaos after demonetization in 2016—not a crime.
They insist Shetty barely had any role in running the company and call the accusations false and unfair.
Mumbai Police are still investigating by questioning senior staff at Best Deal TV to track where the money actually went.
The next court hearing is set for November 20.
