Gunjan Saxena biopic: Janhvi Kapoor starts shooting in Lucknow
After impressing audience with her debut in Dhadak, Janhvi Kapoor has begun shooting for her second movie now. The newbie will be seen in Gunjan Saxena's biopic titled Kargil Girl. Gunjan was the first female combat pilot of Indian Air Force, who played an important role in evacuating injured soldiers from Kargil in 1999. The movie has hit the floors last week in Lucknow.
Gunjan Saxena was the first woman to be awarded Shaurya Chakra. During Kargil war, she along with Lieutenant Srividya Rajan left no stone unturned to bring the soldiers home from the warzone.
Coming back to the movie, Janhvi's pictures from the sets as Gunjan Saxena have already gone viral. In the pictures, Janhvi is seen sitting in a car as the camera captures her close-up shot. Earlier, pictures of Janhvi donning Indian Air Force uniform had also surfaced online, raising the expectation for the movie. The movie will also feature Angad Bedi in a pivotal role.
Angad will essay the role of Gunjan's brother Anshuman Saxena. "Angad plays an army officer, like Gunjan's real-life brother, while Pankaj Tripathi plays their father," a source reportedly told Mumbai Mirror. This will also be the first time Angad will be seen donning the uniform.
The film will also show that the characters of Janhvi and Angad are fans of veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Hence, they will be recreating his iconic steps from the One Two Ka Four song of Ram Lakhan. The duo was spotted shooting the sequence on the streets of Nirala Nagar over the weekend. The first schedule will likely be wrapped up by March 2.
