Snoop Dogg becomes Team USA's honorary coach for Winter Olympics

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has appointed renowned rapper Snoop Dogg as the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy. The announcement was made on Thursday with USOPC stating that Dogg will take on a "volunteer role celebrating and supporting America's athletes off the field of play."

'If I can bring a little more love and motivation...'
Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., said in a statement, "This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that's a win for me." USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland also expressed her enthusiasm about Dogg's appointment, saying his "enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic movement is contagious."

Dogg's role includes raising awareness and resources
Dogg, who was a prominent figure during the Paris Summer Olympics, will use his voice to raise awareness and resources for the US Olympic & Paralympic Foundation Team USA Fund. He will also support "the team behind the team," which includes staff, coaches, medical experts, administrators, and partners who help athletes pursue their dreams.
