#VikasBahl controversy: Sonam reacts to Kangana's anger, says 'stronger together'
Bollywood's #MeToo campaign against director Vikas Bahl initiated a new controversy after Kangana Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor got into a war of words. Kangana, who was not pleased with Sonam's remarks on her story, even took a jibe on her celebrity status. However, Sonam chose to put an end to this spat with a powerful message for Kangana, saying 'we are stronger together'.
Sonam has compassion and love for Kangana
Post Kangana's infuriated remarks, Sonam shared a post on Instagram slamming media for misquoting her and making Kangana react. "All I want to say is that all I have is compassion and love for you," she wrote. Sonam also highlighted the fact that it's time for all women to come together and speak up. This message is certainly the need of the hour.
Sonam wins the game with this powerful message
Women need to stand together! irresponsible media have misquoted me or taken my quote out of context and made other women react. All I want to say is that all I have is compassion and love for you. I’m proud of where I come from and so should every other woman or man. Let’s stand together and speak up. Let’s not pull each other down with bitterness and negativity. Love is always the answer. ☮️ 💖 drawing by @stayinkspired
How did Kangana-Sonam's verbal spat begin?
Kangana had accused Bahl of sexual misconduct and revealed how the director made her uncomfortable even in public meetings. While Sonam lauded Kangana for speaking about the horrifying incident, she also mentioned that it's hard to believe Kangana, given she has a bone to pick up with people. "She says a lot of stuff and sometimes it's hard to take her seriously," she added.
Furious with the statement, Kangana slammed Sonam
Agitated by Sonam's comment, Kangana lashed out at her saying, "Who is she to judge me?" She even went on to question Sonam's credibility as a speaker and took a jibe at her celebrity status. While things could have turned worse between them, Sonam's powerful message about unity has won her brownie points. We wonder if Kangana would agree with Sonam this time.
