SonyLIV is dropping 11 new originals in South Indian languages

SonyLIV is stepping up its game in the South, announcing 11 fresh original shows in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
The goal? To connect with southern viewers who love strong local stories—just like they did with their Hindi hits.

How they're making it happen

Danish Khan, SonyLIV's head, says Tamil and Telugu are top priorities, while Malayalam content is going national.
Expect two to three new Malayalam originals every year and some film acquisitions too. You'll be able to stream them directly or via partners like Airtel and Jio.
Khan also isn't worried about OTT hurting theaters—he believes great stories will keep people coming back to both screens.
