In what will be a red-letter day for the Hindi film industry, Sridevi will be honored at the 71st Cannes Film Festival.
The late Bollywood actor will be given a special salute for her contribution in cinema with a special evening of memories, anecdotes and video clips of her best performances.
Sridevi passed away at the age of 54 on February 24.
Sridevi's producer husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor will head to the French Riviera to attend the special tribute ceremony on May 16.
Earlier, the trio also went to collect Sridevi's National Award.
She had won the Best Actress trophy posthumously for her performance in 'Mom'.
"I'm happy that people all over the world are recognizing her work and contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it's somewhat comforting to know that she lives on through her work," he said.
Before, the 90th Academy Awards paid homage to Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor.
They were featured in the 'In Memoriam' segment of the prestigious awards.
All the Indian fans, as well as several Bollywood stars, were overwhelmed to see the loss of Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor being acknowledged at the Oscars.
