Suit up! The Parr family officially returns in 'Incredibles 3'
Disney and Pixar have officially confirmed the development of Incredibles 3—the third installment in the popular Incredibles franchise. The announcement was made at the D23 fan event on August 9, marking a significant milestone for the superhero family saga. The original Incredibles movie was released in 2004 and won an Oscar for Best Animated Film. Its sequel, released in 2018, became Pixar's highest-grossing film until it was recently dethroned by Inside Out 2.
Director Brad Bird had hinted at a third installment
Brad Bird—the director of the first two Incredibles movies and the voice of Edna Mode—had hinted at a possible third installment during a 2018 interview. He said, "I would rather say I'm not closed to it, but it's not on my mind." Bird added, "The last thing you want to do after swimming in the ocean for a month is go for a swim. I need to do something else for a while...we'll see what the future has in store."
