Tamil actor's arrest unveils job scam and land mafia
Tamil actor Srikanth was taken into custody by Chennai Police on Monday, after his name came up in a drug-related investigation.
His arrest is linked to a bigger case that started with a pub fight and led police to Prasad, who's accused of running both job scams and using police contacts for shady deals.
Nearly ₹2 crore scammed in fake job scam
Prasad allegedly scammed people out of nearly ₹2 crore by promising fake government jobs and got hold of sensitive info through police connections.
The investigation uncovered his ties to drug trafficking—cocaine was sourced through contacts like John from Ghana, with 11gm seized during the probe.
A constable named Senthil is also under scrutiny for helping Prasad, while Ajay Vandaiyar faces charges for land grabbing using forged documents.
Police are still tracking down more people involved in these crimes.
