After shattering box-office records, 'Uri' to enter Rs. 200cr club

Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike hit gold at the box office. The movie, which is winning hearts since release, has minted Rs. 174.43cr so far. In fact, the war drama continues to be unstoppable and is shattering several box office records. Given its phenomenal run, Uri is all set to add another feather to its cap by entering the prestigious Rs. 200crore club.

    'Uri' is setting new benchmarks

Uri is continuing its fantastic journey and has set new benchmarks at the box office. It has successfully completed three weeks at the box office and is eyeing a fourth. In fact, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Uri could do better business on its fourth Friday than it did in the third week. The team of Uri has all the reasons to rejoice.

'Uri' is unfazed by the competition

Notably, Uri is facing strong competition from the biggest releases of the year- Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Thackeray. However, the Aditya Dhar directorial is unfazed by the competition. In fact, it has maintained its winning streak and is giving a tough time to competitors. Besides, it is also heading towards the 'all-time blockbuster status' now.

    'Uri' beats 'Sanju' and 'Padmaavat'

With its spectacular performance and stronghold at the box office, Uri became the first blockbuster of 2019. It also emerged as the highest grosser in the third week. With a collection of over Rs. 35 crore this week, Uri outshone three highest earners of 2018: Padmaavat, Sanju and Simmba. Those movies had earned Rs. 31.75cr, Rs. 31.62cr and Rs. 20.06cr respectively.

'How's the josh' is an emotion now: Vicky

Vicky, who is basking in the success of Uri, is grateful for the love his movie has received. In fact, his catchphrase "How's the josh?" became immensely popular among the crowd. Expressing his gratitude, Vicky shared an extensive note on Instagram. "You all have turned it into an emotion... An emotion so strong and special, I am going to cherish for life," he wrote.

Vicky is high on josh and we love it!

It’s not just a line anymore... I get so many “How’s the Josh?!” videos from you all everyday, each one made with so much love and passion, from schools, colleges, cafes, work places... from people fighting the cold in minus temperatures to people sweating it out in the gym... from conference meetings to marriage ceremonies... from a 92 years old grandmother to a 2 years old kid... from even our Jawaans in the armed forces. It’s not just a line anymore, you all have turned it into an emotion... an emotion so strong and special, I’m going to cherish for life. Thank You everyone. इस प्यार और सम्मान के लिए तहे दिल से शुक्रिया। ❤️🙏
