Strike impact
WGA strike affects awards season
The Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) canceled its annual show in LA earlier this month due to an ongoing strike by its staff. The Writers Guild Staff Union, which went on strike on February 17, is demanding higher wages and "just cause" protections in the employee discipline process. Despite the cancellation, the New York ceremony went ahead as planned.
