125 Indians rescued from Myanmar scam centers: MEA
India just brought home 125 people who were trapped in scam centers in Myanmar after being lured by fake job offers.
These victims were forced into online fraud work, but thanks to a special Indian Air Force flight from Mae Sot, Thailand, they're finally back.
This rescue is part of ongoing efforts to help Indians caught up in Southeast Asian cybercrime rackets.
How it happened and what's next
Since March 2024, India has helped about 1,500 citizens escape similar scams through coordinated missions with Thai authorities.
The government is urging everyone to double-check any overseas job offer and remember that Thailand's visa-free entry is only for tourism or business—not for work.
Stay sharp and don't let traffickers fool you with promises that sound too good to be true.
