Abaan Ahmed, Atiq Ahmed's son, dies in Jhansi car crash
Abaan Ahmed, 21, the youngest son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, died in a car accident near Jhansi on Thursday morning.
He was reportedly on his way to see his jailed brother Ali when the SUV he was traveling in with four others crashed into a road divider.
Witnesses: Abaan Ahmed called 'Save me'
Witnesses say Abaan was trapped in the wreckage and called out "Save me" before losing consciousness.
He and another passenger died at the scene; three others were injured.
The SUV was said to be speeding over 120km/h when a calf came onto the highway, prompting the driver to swerve left, and then the SUV encountered a motorcycle, forcing another sudden maneuver before crashing into the divider.
Police are investigating, with survivor statements being recorded and a forensic team has inspected the accident site.
He is expected to be buried in Prayagraj alongside his father on Friday.
