  • Sailing deep into the ocean was challenging for the team. They were given a special training for two years.

By the end of it, they were well versed in astronomy, meteorology, navigation, communication, seamanship and reading weather maps.

It was their perseverance that they battled winds up to 60 knots in Pacific ocean. Navy spokesperson Captain D K Sharma appreciated the team.

  • Do you know?

The crew stopped at just five places during grueling journey

  • Onboard a vessel (meant to showcase 'Make In India' initiative to the World), the crew halted just five times during the entire journey. They stopped at Fremantle in Australia, Lyttelton in New Zealand, Port Stanley in Falkland Islands, Cape Town in South Africa and Mauritius.
