After Delhi blast, hate graffiti sparks concern at ISI Kolkata
Just a day after a deadly car bomb near Delhi's Red Fort killed at least 10 people, hateful graffiti targeting Muslims showed up at several locations within the boys' hostel (C V Raman Hall) at ISI Kolkata.
Messages like "No Muslims allowed" and other slurs were found on hostel walls, entrances, and even dustbins—leaving students unsettled and highlighting growing communal tensions.
ISI takes action as students demand change
ISI's administration quickly condemned the graffiti as a serious violation of campus values, promising strict legal action against those responsible.
In response to student complaints about slow action, the institute set up a 10-member panel on November 13 to investigate and suggest ways to prevent this in future.
Counter-posters reading "No religious bigots allowed inside" also appeared around campus as officials and students called for stronger steps to keep things safe and inclusive.
