Ahmedabad police caught 2 Rajasthan men over NEET UG scam
Ahmedabad police have caught two young men from Rajasthan for scamming NEET UG students.
They used Telegram channels to claim they had the NEET UG re-exam paper after the original May 3 exam was canceled due to a paper leak and asked students and parents for advance payments in exchange for these fake papers.
Telegram channels tied to ₹1.5cr
The duo created channels like Raghav_singh_neet, roughly 1,000 mobile numbers and Telegram channels contacted within the past month.
Victims paid through QR codes and online payment platforms, but police say no real exam materials were ever found.
The investigation linked them to ₹1.5 crore across six bank accounts and 12 complaints from different states.
Turns out, they allegedly used Telegram channels for investment-related fraud, and created around 44 websites for gaming, betting, gambling, and cyber fraud activities.
