Alarming surge in heart attack deaths in Karnataka's Hassan district
Hassan district is facing a worrying spike in heart attack deaths—21 people have died in just 40 days, including five aged only 19-25 and eight between 25-45.
The victims come from all walks of life, with recent cases like a professor passing away suddenly.
This unusual trend among young adults has left the community concerned and looking for answers.
Committee to investigate causes of deaths
With heart attacks claiming more lives—especially younger ones—the Health Department has set up a committee led by Dr. Ravindranath from Jayadeva Institute to dig into the causes.
Nine of the recent victims were over 55 with existing health issues like diabetes.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru's Jayadeva Hospital has seen an 8% jump in people coming for heart check-ups, showing just how much this surge is on everyone's mind.
