AlphaGeo ranks Ahmedabad and Hyderabad lowest in global climate resilience
India
Ahmedabad and Hyderabad have landed at the bottom of a global climate-resilience ranking by AlphaGeo.
The study checked how 72 big cities handle threats like floods, heatwaves, and droughts, and how well they're preparing with things like early warning systems and stronger infrastructure.
Nine South Asian cities at bottom
Nine of the 10 least resilient cities are in South Asia, including Kolkata, Multan, Dhaka, and Lahore.
These places face serious climate risks but aren't doing enough to adapt yet.
Meanwhile, Chicago topped the list thanks to investment in infrastructure and low hurricane risk.
Cities like Addis Ababa, Melbourne, Paris, and even Beijing and Shanghai have also made big strides in tackling climate challenges.
