Andhra Pradesh: 4 elderly people die after drinking adulterated milk
A heartbreaking incident in Rajamahendravaram saw four elderly people lose their lives after drinking allegedly adulterated milk sold by an unauthorized vendor, Addala Ganeshwar Rao.
The tainted milk reached over 100 households, leading to severe health issues like kidney failure, vomiting, and diarrhea for the victims.
Vendor arrested, health teams screening families
Twelve more people—including kids and a five-month-old baby—are still in the hospital; nine are in ICU and two need ventilator support.
Police have arrested the vendor and sealed his dairy unit, suspecting a freezer coolant leak may have caused the contamination.
The Chief Minister has promised strict action against those responsible and announced ₹10 lakh ex gratia to the families of the deceased.
Health teams are also screening nearly 1,000 families in the area to prevent further cases.
