Andhra Pradesh approves 2 DA hikes taking effect September 2026

After a long wait, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved two Dearness Allowance (DA) hikes for state employees, local body staff, and university workers.
The new rates kick in with September 2026 salaries (paid in October), giving paychecks a boost.
DA hikes total 4.55% increase
The first hike bumps DA from 37.31% to 40.04% of basic pay starting July 1, 2024, a 2.73% jump.
The second takes it up to 41.86% from January 1, 2025, adding another 1.82%.
Altogether, that's a total increase of 4.55%.
DA arrears paid in installments 2027-28
DA arrears for these hikes will be paid out in installments beginning in 2027 and 2028, credited to GPF accounts for Old Pension Scheme folks or PRAN or cash for those on CPS.
Special exemptions apply to retiring staff and legal heirs.
