Andhra Pradesh moves over 6,000 pregnant women as cyclones approach
India
With cyclones Murasu and Arnab closing in, Andhra Pradesh took early action by moving more than 6,000 pregnant women to hospitals across the state.
The idea was simple: make sure no one gets stuck without care if the weather turns rough.
As of now, 2,924 pregnant women have delivered so far.
Transport modes used and staff coordination
Teams used ambulances, Thalli Bidda Express vehicles, and even private vehicles to get everyone where they needed to be.
High-risk pregnancies got extra attention.
Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu highlighted how doctors, nurses, and community health workers all pulled together: Everyone worked side by side so mothers and babies stayed safe.
