Andhra Pradesh to reduce electricity tariff from November: Details here
Good news if you live in Andhra Pradesh: starting November, your electricity bill will be a little lighter.
The state government is dropping tariffs by 13 paise per unit, which means you save ₹13 for every 100 units consumed.
Power Minister Gottipati Ravikumar says this move is all about making life more affordable and keeping promises made during the recent elections.
Reviving old power plants, boosting renewable energy projects
This isn't just about lower bills—the state's rolling out big changes in the power sector.
The PM Surya Ghar scheme will bring solar rooftops to 20 lakh homes, with free units for SC/ST families and solid discounts for BC communities.
Plus, old plants like Krishnapatnam and Kadapa are being revived to boost supply, while new projects under the PM Kusum initiative aim to improve reliability with better lines.
Separately, the state is prioritizing more renewable energy projects.
