India
Big news for Assam: the government just greenlit a new 135.87-km, four-lane access-controlled Guwahati-Tezpur corridor on National Highway-15 in Assam.
Costing ₹8,970.20 crore and built by a private developer under the BOT model, this road is set to make travel much faster and smoother across the region.
Guwahati-Tezpur corridor includes bridges and flyovers
The corridor will cut down travel time, boost safety, and make it easier to get from Assam to Arunachal Pradesh.
There'll be five bypasses to help avoid traffic jams in busy towns like Tezpur and Kharupetia.
Plus, expect some serious infrastructure: think 15 big bridges, 19 flyovers, 46 underpasses and one elephant underpass, 210km of service roads, and even an emergency landing strip near Tezpur for aircraft in case of emergencies.
