Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma bans private flood relief collections
India
Assam's chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, just made it clear: no collecting flood-relief donations under your own banner now.
Instead, he wants everyone to either donate straight to the government or use their own resources if they want to help.
He also stressed that no one should feel pressured to give money, and told Assam Police to step in if anyone tries forcing donations.
Assam flood victims contact district administration
If you've been hit by the floods, you can now reach out directly to your district administration for support.
Government teams have access to every affected area.
Once officials finish checking damage, compensation will be given out as per state rules, so help is coming for eligible beneficiaries after this tough season.
