Ayodhya temple receives luxurious gold swings

India

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya just got a little shinier—two brand new 24-carat gold swings, weighing 5.5kg each and together worth ₹12cr, have been added to Ram Lalla's shrine.
These join the temple's already impressive gold collection, which now totals about 56kg and includes everything from doors to ritual items.

Swings made by Chennai artisans

These swings aren't just for show—they were made by Chennai artisans with a 200-year legacy, featuring classic Vaishnavite designs like lotus petals and conch shells.
They'll be used during special Shravana rituals starting July 2025, as well as daily aarti and bhajan ceremonies.

Temple officials on the swings

Temple officials say the swings blend heritage with artistry, serving an important role in rituals.
It's their way of deepening the spiritual bond between devotees and Ram Lalla while celebrating centuries-old traditions in a modern way.
