Bank holidays next week: Check if your city is on list
Heads up: Indian banks will be closed on four different days next week, but the exact dates depend on where you are.
These breaks are for regional festivals and even an election, so it's not the same everywhere—check if your city is on the list before making any big banking plans.
Regional festivals and elections
On November 5, banks in multiple cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Srinagar, and others will be shut for Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, and Rahas Purnima, depending on the region.
Patna gets a holiday on November 6 for the Bihar Assembly election.
Shillong banks close on November 6 and 7 for local festivals (Nongkrem Dance and Wangala), while Bengaluru takes a break on November 8 for Kanakadasa Jayanthi.
What to do if you need banking services
You can still use online banking, mobile apps, ATMs, and UPI as usual—no worries there.
But if you need to clear a cheque or handle paperwork at a branch, that'll have to wait until banks reopen.
