On Saturday morning in Bengaluru, retired Army man Janardhan K.C. (64) was badly burned when leaked gas in his kitchen ignited, causing an explosion.
He was just trying to make his morning tea, but a hidden gas leak—made worse by poor ventilation—caused the blast.
The explosion also left his home damaged.

Neighbors acted fast, calling for help right after the explosion.
Janardhan was rushed to Victoria Hospital with serious burns.
Police have started an investigation to find out exactly how the leak and explosion happened.
