Bengaluru PG owner accused of sexual assault
A 35-year-old PG owner in Bengaluru, Raviteja Reddy, was arrested after allegedly raping a 21-year-old nursing graduate who lived at his accommodation.
The incident happened on June 21, after Reddy accused her of stealing diamond and gold rings from other residents.
He reportedly called everyone together, threatened police action if the items weren't returned, and later singled out the woman for questioning.
Reddy has been remanded for 14 days
After the woman filed a complaint at Mico Layout Police Station, Reddy was taken into custody and has been remanded for 14 days while police investigate further.
Authorities are collecting evidence and witness statements.
This case follows another recent harassment incident in Bengaluru, prompting officials to urge PGs and public spaces to step up security and encourage people to report sexual crimes immediately.
