Bengaluru prison raid finds phone with convicted ex-MP Prajwal Revanna
A surprise prison raid in Bengaluru turned up a hidden mobile phone, SIM card, charger, and USB drive with former MP, has been convicted of rape Prajwal Revanna.
He and his prisonmate, undertrial Prathap Rai were caught using the device, leading police to arrest five people.
Guard smuggled phone, 5 people arrested
Turns out, a prison guard sneaked in the phone while an undertrial inmate provided the SIM card.
Using electronic evidence, police tracked down and arrested Naveen Kumar, Manjunath, Prakash, Siddiq, and Mohammed Touseef.
The investigation is still looking into whether other staff were involved.
Prathap said Prajwal already had the phone before they shared a cell.
