Bengaluru techie murdered by cousin over financial dispute
Shrinath K, a 34-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru, was found murdered and buried in an abandoned house near Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh.
He had gone missing on October 27 after visiting his cousin Prabhakar, who is now the main suspect.
Shrinath's wife Neha reported him missing on November 1, and police discovered his body on November 16.
Money troubles turned deadly
Police say Prabhakar convinced Shrinath to invest ₹40 lakh with promises of doubling the money.
Shrinath believed he had given Prabhakar ₹40 lakh, but Prabhakar claimed he received only ₹10 lakh and returned ₹5 lakh.
When Shrinath kept asking for the rest, things took a tragic turn—Prabhakar killed him with help from an associate named Jagadish and buried his body nearby.
Where the case stands now
After denying any involvement at first, Prabhakar was arrested on November 13 when Neha's complaint and her disclosure of the investment scheme led police to upgrade the case to kidnapping.
Both suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
