Bengaluru's air turns 'unhealthy'—here's what's up

India

Bengaluru's air quality just took a hit, with the AQI spiking to 178—officially in the "Unhealthy" zone.
PM10 and PM2.5 levels are both well above safe limits, and the city has been swinging between "Moderate," "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups," and occasionally "Unhealthy" air all week.

Why should you care?

High PM10 pollution is making it tough to breathe, especially for kids, older folks, and anyone with asthma or heart issues.
Many residents have noticed more illegal garbage burning lately, which is adding to the problem.
If this keeps up, everyone's health could be at risk—so staying informed (and maybe masking up) isn't a bad idea.
