NIA arrests doctor siblings over deadly Red Fort car blast

India

The NIA has arrested Dr. Shaheen Saeed, a Faridabad-based doctor, and detained her brother Dr. Parvez Ansari, who is based in Lucknow, for allegedly helping a terror group behind the November 10 Red Fort car blast in Delhi.
The attack, linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad, killed 13 people and injured over 20.
Investigators say Dr. Shaheen provided funds and let suspects use her car, while Dr. Parvez handled secret communications using multiple phones and an international SIM card.

How the case is unfolding

After the arrests, NIA raided Parvez's Lucknow home and found digital devices, documents, and three large knives—these are now being analyzed for evidence of terror financing or plans for more attacks.
Both siblings worked at medical institutions connected to a wider network under investigation across several states.
Shaheen had joined Al Falah University in Faridabad—a place now flagged as a key hub—after suddenly quitting another job in 2013.
The NIA is still piecing together how this module operated and what it might have planned next.
