Bihar government sanctions ₹882.87 crore for temple development

India

Big plans are underway in Bihar: the state just set aside ₹882.87 crore to transform Punaura Dham Janki Mandir in Sitamarhi, a spot many believe is where Goddess Sita was born.
The move came after a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

What's in store for visitors?

The temple area is getting a major upgrade—think new gardens like 'Sita-Vatika' and 'Luv-Kush Vatika,' a parikrama path for walking, plus cafes, kiosks, and play zones for kids.
There'll be better roads and parking too, making it easier to visit.

Architects of Ayodhya Ram temple designing this project

The same architects who worked on Ayodhya's Ram temple are designing this project as well.
The goal? To make Punaura Dham just as significant—a blend of spiritual vibes and modern facilities that could put Sitamarhi on more people's travel lists.
