    Bihar: Man kills father, brother over unequal land distribution

    Bihar: Man kills father, brother over unequal land distribution

    A man allegedly shot dead his father and younger brother over unequal distribution of land in Saharsa district of Bihar today, police said. His sister-in-law and nephew were also injured in the incident. The incident occurred at Situaha Dih village under Salkhua police station when the man Mantu Yadav alias Vinod shot dead his father Hardeo Yadav and his younger brother Ashok Yadav.

    Ashok was sleeping on the terrace when he was shot

    Ashok Yadav, 45, was sleeping on the terrace with his wife Kanchan Devi and their son Bittu Kumar when he was shot dead by his brother, Salkhua police station SHO Tarun Kumar Tarunesh said. On hearing the gunshots, their father, 80, came out of his room but his son Mantu Yadav fired at him also, killing him on the spot, the SHO said.

    Accused absconding since the incident

    Police said the octogenarian had gifted an additional 3 acres of land to his youngest son which led to the killing. Kanchan Devi and her son Bittu Kumar, who sustained bullet injuries in neck and chest, were admitted to a hospital where the doctors, after administering first aid, referred them to Saharsa Sadar hospital. The accused was absconding since the incident, the SHO said.
