BJP committee investigates Kolkata gangrape case

After the reported gangrape of a South Calcutta Law College student, the BJP has sent a special committee—including former Union Ministers Satpal Singh and Meenakshi Lekhi—to Kolkata.
Their goal: to check out what went wrong with campus safety and review the state's overall law and order situation.

BJP calls for accountability from Bengal CM

The team will meet with the victim's family, police, and university officials to understand how this could happen—especially since some accused have political connections.
As Singh put it, women's safety needs urgent attention. The BJP is also calling for accountability from West Bengal's Chief Minister.
Four suspects are in custody as investigations continue.
