West Bengal: BJP worker's body found hanging from tree

The body of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was found hanging from a tree in Senabona village of West Bengal's Purulia district. The deceased was identified as Sirkabaid Panchayat member's son, 22-year-old Sishupal Sehisar. Village residents found his body hanging from a tree in the morning. BJP has alleged TMC's hand in the killing. An investigation into the incident is underway. Here's more.
This is the latest in a series of similar incidents in Purulia. BJP workers, Trilochan Mahto and Dulal Kumar, went missing last year and were found murdered later; Mahato's body was hanging from a tree and Kumar's was hanging from a high-tension electric pole.
Workers of BJP and TMC in West Bengal have locked horns many times even in the past. Even during the recent Panchayat elections, several reports of scuffles between BJP and TMC party works have emerged. The Election Commission has now deployed massive security as three North Bengal constituencies are going to polls. North Bengal is a sensitive region due/ to the Gorkhaland issue.
Meanwhile, there have been reports of a reporter and a photographer being beaten up at Goalpokhar in West Bengal's Raiganj PC. They went to a polling booth in the area after allegations of voter intimidation. They were beaten up and left bleeding until their colleagues rescued and took them to hospital. Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal will be conducted in all seven phases.
