Chinar Corps assesses security pre-Amarnath Yatra

With the Amarnath Yatra set to begin on July 3, top Army officer Lt Gen Prashant Shrivastava toured Kashmir Valley to check how ready the security teams are.
This annual pilgrimage draws thousands every year, and keeping everyone safe is a big priority.

TL;DR

No-fly zones

To ramp up safety, Jammu and Kashmir has made all routes to the shrine 'no-fly zones' from July 1 to August 10—so no drones or balloons allowed.
Police are also implementing increased security measures to make sure things stay secure for everyone heading out on the yatra.

Past attacks have put pilgrims at risk

The government and Army are stepping up because past attacks have put pilgrims at risk.
Their message: they're serious about making this year's yatra peaceful and safe for all.
