What's the story

A 13-year-old Class 8 student died after jumping from the third floor of her school building in Jalna, Maharashtra, on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 7:30am at a prominent local school. After the fall, she was rushed to a private hospital and later shifted to the district civil hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigation progress

Police investigation underway, no suicide note found

The police reached the school soon after the incident and conducted a spot inspection. An accidental death report has been registered as part of their investigation. They are looking at every angle to determine what led to this tragic event. CCTV footage from the school premises is being examined, and no suicide note has been recovered so far.

Family's claim

Family alleges mental harassment by teachers

Meanwhile, the girl's father has alleged that his daughter was subjected to sustained mental harassment by her teachers. He claimed she had been distressed for days, but they never expected it would lead to such an extreme step. "We want justice. The school staff responsible should face action," he said, accusing the administration of negligence and pressuring his child.
