Cold wave hits Maharashtra; Mumbai records coldest November morning

Maharashtra is currently experiencing a cold wave, with temperatures dropping sharply across the state. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has recorded several areas witnessing single-digit minimum temperatures. This sudden drop marks the most intense winter spell of the season so far. In Mumbai, residents woke up to the coldest November morning in 11 years, with minimum temperatures dipping to 16.2°C at the Santacruz observatory, five degrees below normal levels.

Pune, Nashik and Malegaon also experience temperature drop
Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5°C with high relative humidity at 91%. However, no rainfall was recorded despite the seasonal rainfall figure being 70.9mm. Nashik also witnessed a dip in temperatures, with minimums falling to 9.7°C and relative humidity at 72%. Similarly, Malegaon recorded a sharp drop with minimum temperatures hitting 9.4°C and humidity levels at 80%.

Jeur records lowest temperature in Maharashtra
The lowest temperature was recorded in Jeur, where mercury dropped to 7°C on Wednesday morning. Relative humidity was recorded at 56%. Ahilyanagar also witnessed a significant dip, with temperatures falling to 8.5°C and relative humidity at 75%. The IMD has predicted that clear skies, dry air and calm winds will continue to prevail, leading to a further drop in temperatures across Maharashtra. North Maharashtra and Marathwada are likely to become some of the coldest regions by the end of November.
