Containers from Wan Hai 503 to reach Kerala coasts

Heads up if you're in Kerala—officials say debris from the fire-damaged container ship MV Wan Hai 503 could start washing onto beaches between June 16 and June 18. This follows an onboard explosion earlier this month. The KSDMA is asking everyone to steer clear of any strange objects along the coast and to call emergency number 112 if you spot anything unusual.

TL;DR

What's the latest on the ship?

Right now, the MV Wan Hai 503 is tilted but stable about 45 nautical miles off the coast. It's being towed even farther out by a tugboat, with help from Coast Guard teams making sure it stays at least 50 nautical miles away until its owners decide what happens next. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation.
