Contaminated diesel halts Madhya Pradesh CM's convoy
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's convoy hit a major snag Thursday night when 19 vehicles broke down after refueling with diesel reportedly mixed with water.
The cars were on their way to a skill development event in Ratlam but started stalling soon after leaving the petrol pump—some didn't even make it off the forecourt, leading officials to seal the pump right away.
Investigation underway
Local authorities, led by naib tehsildar Ashish Upadhyay, have kicked off an investigation.
Early checks suggest rainwater may have gotten into the diesel tanks.
Driver Shubham Parmar shared that they found "a mix of water and diesel" once the cars gave out.
The petrol pump staff are being questioned and officials are trying to track down the owner to figure out what went wrong and prevent this from happening again.
