    Members of a criminal gang today opened fire on Delhi Crime Branch personnel after they were intercepted near Ekant Marg, police said. However, all the five criminals of gang managed to escape after the shootout, a police official said. Police said the information was received that the gang's members were proceeding towards Kosi Kalan, Mathura, for procuring a large cache of arms. Here's more.

    Police laid a trap to nab the criminals

    Following the tip-off, a trap was laid to nab the criminals at Ekant Marg, police said. The Crime Branch personnel signaled a vehicle to stop. But, the driver rammed the car into the barricade. The accused opened fire. The police team fired in retaliation. However, the accused continued to drive the vehicle with a flat tire and managed to escape, police said.
