Cyclone Ditwah set to hit Tamil Nadu coast on Friday
India
Cyclone Ditwah is picking up strength in the Bay of Bengal and heading toward the north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh coasts.
The IMD says it should make landfall near north Tamil Nadu early Sunday morning, bringing some serious weather with it.
Why does this matter?
Heavy rain—sometimes over 200mm in a day—is expected across northern Tamil Nadu through Saturday, especially in delta and coastal districts.
The cyclone could mean flooding, power cuts, damaged roads or buildings, and big crop losses for farmers.
If you're in the area or know someone who is, it's a good time to stay alert and take precautions.
