DDA's master plan for Delhi 2047 targets residential upgrades
Delhi's Master Plan for Delhi 2047 is all about upgrading the city's aging residential areas.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) wants to help government colonies and housing societies modernize together, with better infrastructure and more organized layouts.
Projects need to cover at least 3,000 square meters and can combine or reorganize plots for smoother redevelopment.
Up to 1.5 FAR mandates sustainability
If your society joins in, you could see bigger buildings, thanks to construction rights up to 1.5 times the usual limit (FAR).
Everyone has to work together, though; group housing societies must apply as a team.
Some land might go for road widening, but residents get extra building credits in return.
The DDA also says new projects must include things like water-reuse systems, renewable energy, and multi-level parking.
Just note: urban villages, unauthorized colonies, slums, the Ridge, Yamuna floodplain, land pooling and low-density areas, ASI- or NMA-protected zones, Lutyens's and Civil Lines Bungalow Zones, Connaught Place and its extension, and Transit Oriented Development areas aren't included in this plan.
