Debris from Singaporean cargo ship found in Kerala

A cargo ship called MV Wan Hai 503 caught fire off the Kerala coast on June 9, 2025, after some containers exploded. Now, parts of the ship—including a container and a lifeboat—have washed up on Alappuzha beach. The ship was carrying hazardous stuff like flammable liquids and toxic chemicals, which has everyone worried about pollution and safety if more debris shows up.

TL;DR

Navy had to step in to keep damaged vessel afloat

Besides being a wild sight for locals, this is serious for the environment and people living nearby. Out of 22 crew members, 18 were rescued but four are still missing. The Navy even had to step in to keep the damaged vessel from drifting closer to shore. It's a reminder of how quickly things can go wrong at sea—and why coastal safety matters for everyone.
