Delhi engineer murdered by friend during robbery: What we know

India

Suresh Kumar Rathi, a 59-year-old Delhi Jal Board assistant engineer, was killed in his Rohini flat on October 31.
The attacker, Bunty (44), had recently befriended Rathi and stabbed him in the neck during a robbery, escaping with gold jewelry and cash.
The crime was discovered when Rathi's son, Ankur, reported it two days later.

Accused has 3 criminal cases against him

Police identified Bunty using CCTV and phone tracking, arresting him at his girlfriend's place in Vikaspuri.
He admitted to planning the murder after noticing Rathi's gold jewelry.
Officers have recovered all stolen valuables—including jewelry, cash, phones, and the scooter used for the getaway.
Bunty already had three criminal cases against him; police are still investigating if anyone else was involved.
