Delhi government releases ₹687cr BTA for 2025-26
Today, the Delhi government handed out ₹687.22 crore as the last chunk of its Basic Tax Assignment (BTA) for 2025-26.
Most of it went to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), with smaller shares for New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Delhi Cantonment Board (DCB).
This wraps up all BTA payments for the year.
Special 1-time aid of ₹500 crore for waste management
MCD received ₹673.13 crore in the third and final BTA instalment—money meant to boost things like cleaner streets, better sanitation, and smoother roads.
Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood said this cash will help tackle waste management and dust pollution across the city.
There's also a special one-time aid of ₹500 crore for waste management, operation of sanitation services, clearance of pending dues, lifting garbage from contractor-less areas and minor road repairs.
The government says it will monitor how the money is spent closely.
