Delhi government to give ₹850 LPG cylinder subsidy for festivals
Delhi just approved a plan to help out low-income households during Holi and Diwali by giving them money for one LPG cylinder (about ₹850) each festival.
It's part of the BJP's election promises, with the government setting aside ₹300 crore to make it happen.
How the process will work
If you have a ration card and qualify, you'll get the cash sent straight to your Aadhaar-linked bank account—no need to pick up a physical cylinder.
You'll get an SMS when the money lands, and then you can buy your cylinder from any regular distributor.
First payment expected just before Holi
The first round of payments is set for just before Holi.
With inflation making fuel more expensive, this move should offer some real relief for families feeling the pinch.
Pending decision on ₹500 subsidized rate per cylinder
The BJP's manifesto also promises LPG cylinders at a subsidized rate of ₹500 for poor households—a decision on that is still pending.
